About L.E. Williams

"I want to bring Honor to the Office and Respect to the Voter".

I wake up every morning feeling like I am 21 years old. Then I look in the mirror and find out that somebody put a 73 year old person inside of me.  To make things worse the newspapers also think I am 73.

I am a father, grandfather and great grandfather. I have 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Family is very important to me.  I have been very blessed.

I own and operate Astro Shooting Range and enjoy meeting all the people who visit the range. I enjoy teaching concealed handgun courses at the range and providing other services such as pistol training and classes for both children and adults on gun safety,

Things that I enjoy are antique cars, bass fishing, sports and listening to and discussing world events.

As to my work ethics, I go to the range 7 days a week except for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I enjoy  working with people. I continually work on projects at the range to ensure safety for all that come to shoot or to take a class. I have been doing concealed handgun training since the law came into effect in 1996. I really enjoy the teaching part because I feel that detailed explanation and examples help students to be more aware of safety when they are out shooting.

My work with the Boy Scouts of America as an Air Explorer Advisor was a great experience. Working with and training these young men was a great learning experience for me. The explorers collected 100 thousand pounds of newspapers a month to pay for the cost of having two airplanes. Teaching youth 14 to 18 years in age how to fly and work on airplanes was very rewarding.

I also enjoyed working with the elderly as a volunteer benefit counselor. I was able to assist them in filling out necessary forms to receive needed benefits. This work allowed me the time to discuss what their needs and concerns in life were.

When my family was  growing up most of my time was spent working and doing things with them

I have always been interested and have followed politics. Many years ago I ran for Justice of the peace. This was in a small east Texas county that was generally all democratic.  Well I was a die-hard republican who thought that folks would vote for the man because of what I could do for them. Was I  ever wrong. But you know what? I sure did learn a lot. I also did my homework and researched all the laws that pertained to the Justice of the Peace's office. The knowledge I gained can't be replaced.

I would like to put that knowledge obtained when running for Justice of the Peace in that small east Texas county to work for the citizens of Williamson County.  I want to bring "Honor to the Office and Respect to the Voter".

We are going to be having several get-togethers over the next couple of months and I am looking forward to meeting all of you and sharing what I would like to see in the Justice of the Peace's Office.
